Tong Sui walked in and set down his bag.
In the dim light, it was hard to tell, but once he looked in the dormitory mirror, it was evident what he had been up to—anyone who wasn’t blind could see.
Tong Sui had fair skin that easily showed marks, especially after Ye Linyuan had taken advantage of him while they were together.
“Hey, Sui, your partner is quite impressive,” a friend commented.
If Tong Sui weren’t an alpha, his friend Xiaopang would have suspected he was being bullied at school.
Xiaopang curiously asked, “So how far have you two gone?”
Tong Sui replied, “Not far.”
“Not far? After all that kissing?” Xiaopang seemed doubtful and leaned in to sniff, but there was indeed no Omega scent.
“Have you smelled his pheromones?”
Tong Sui shook his head.
“Then it might be that his pheromones smell bad, which is why he doesn’t let them out. Sui, you’d better check; if it’s something like herring or durian, who can handle that?”
Tong Sui asked, “What difference does it make?”
“Of course, there is!” Xiaopang explained, “Popular Omega scents include various floral or fruity notes. Most alphas don’t like overly aggressive scents.”
“Oh.”
For Tong Sui, it didn’t matter much; he was used to aggressive scents.
After a quick wash, he changed into his pajamas and glanced at the upper bunk.
Everything had been moved out quickly.
Lying down, he soon turned off the light and fell asleep in no time.
The next day.
Yawning, Tong Sui got up and looked in the mirror; his mouth was no longer swollen, just a bit chafed.
There were a few new marks on his neck.
He silently buttoned his uniform all the way to the top to cover up.
After breakfast, the classroom didn’t have fixed seats, but Tong Sui habitually sat in the back, resting his head and staring out the window.
The young teacher from yesterday was still there.
He walked into the classroom, caught sight of Tong Sui in the back, quickly turned his gaze away, and didn’t pay attention to what Tong Sui was doing for the full two lessons.
Tong Sui daydreamed at the window until the bell rang for class to end.
The surrounding students moved away.
There were still two classes to go before school ended, and Tong Sui yawned again.
Jiang Che turned and saw Tong Sui’s blank notebook. “I took notes; do you want me to make a copy for you?”
“No need, I’m just here to pass the time.”
Just then, a few alphas suddenly walked into the classroom. Judging by their insignias, they were all third-year students.
“You must be Tong Sui,” one of them said.
Tong Sui turned around; one of the group had given him water during military training, but he had never seen the leader before.
The leader, Alpha Lu Yiming, noticed Tong Sui didn’t recognize him and said, “I’m the student council president, Lu Yiming. You should have heard of me; I attended your mother’s birthday party.”
Upon hearing his name, Tong Sui squinted.
Lu Yiming was one of the throwaway characters, but he was the one Tong Sui found most annoying. After Ye Linyuan became an Omega and was forced into a match, Lu Yiming had used some tactics to worsen Ye Linyuan’s condition and claimed it was a side effect of secondary differentiation, distancing himself cleanly from it.
Tong Sui asked, “Do you need something?”
His tone was not friendly, but Lu Yiming didn’t take offense. “I hope you’ll join our student council.”
Those nearby gasped at his invitation.
The student council was a coveted organization that many people aspired to join, requiring layers of selection, yet Lu Yiming was actively inviting Tong Sui?
Tong Sui slowly replied, “What benefits are there to joining the student council?”
“There are special credits, it helps with awards and scholarships, you can meet more people to build your network, and it gives you some management authority over students. And that’s not all.”
Lu Yiming continued, “Is there anything else you want to know? We can try to accommodate.”
Tong Sui propped his chin on his hand and said, “My requests are simple. Can you guarantee I won’t fail any classes, or that I can skip class every day?”
Whispers immediately filled the room.
Lu Yiming’s temples twitched. “That’s not possible.”
“Oh, that sounds useless; I’m not interested anymore.”
Though he looked obedient, his red hair was too flamboyant, and his laid-back demeanor completely disregarded the group in front of him.
Lu Yiming sighed, “You can think about it more. I’ll wait for your answer.”
With that, he left with his entourage.
Jiang Che said, “Are you really not considering it? The student council could be quite beneficial.”
Tong Sui responded, “Not considering it.”
Jiang Che asked, “Why not?”
Tong Sui replied, “No reason. I just find him irritating. You’d better not associate with him either.”
“Oh…”
Jiang Che kept Tong Sui’s words in mind as he thought of Lu Yiming.
After leaving the Mecha Engineering classroom and returning to the student council, Lu Yiming’s expression darkened.
The vice president said, “President, there’s no need to recruit him; he clearly doesn’t seem interested.”
Lu Yiming knew this all too well.
Tong Sui was a complete slacker, and if it weren’t for the recent troubles with his family’s business, he wouldn’t bother trying to curry favor with Tong Sui.
“Let someone approach him again in a few days.”
As soon as the bell rang, the students packed their things and headed for the cafeteria. Xiaopang noticed Tong Sui wasn’t moving. “Sui, aren’t you eager for a meal?”
Tong Sui was typing on his terminal, casually saying, “You go ahead; I’m not going to the cafeteria today.”
“Oh, alright, I’ll head out first.”
Tong Sui waved at him, then packed up his things and walked out the door.
